Michael Gips is the principal of Global Insights in Professional Security, LLC, a firm that helps security providers and executives enhance security, develop cutting-edge content, assert thought leadership, and heighten brand awareness.
Security-provider clients include both brand names and startups in access control, weapons detection, executive protection, robotics, unmanned aerial systems, cyberthreat detection, insider risk management, investigations management, social media monitoring, and many more.
Corporate security clients represent a broad range of industries, including power, oil and gas, manufacturing, retail, financial institutions, associations, education, houses of worship, and aerospace/defense.
Mike previously was responsible for security strategy and operations for ASIS International, and was one of the principal architects of ASIS’s Enterprise Security Risk Management (ESRM) initiative.
Concurrent to his role heading the security function, Mike was ASIS’s Chief Global Knowledge and Learning Officer, responsible for Editorial Services, Learning, Production, Certification, Standards & Guidelines, and the CSO Center for Leadership & Development, which he started in 2008.
Mike holds several certifications, designations and certificates, including the CPP (Certified Protection Professional), CSyP (Chartered Security Professional), Security Risk Management Certified Professional (SRMCP), Insider Risk Programme Manager, Registered Presilience Practitioner (RPP) and CAE (Certified Associaton Executive). He has taken executive level courses in security from the Wharton School, IE Business School, Tel Aviv University International, and the R.L. Oatman School of Executive Training.

Michael Gips, a contributing columnist for BNP Media’s Security magazine, has been awarded a Gold Azbee Award, Heartland Region, for his monthly column on leadership.
